I have always stood up for equality and the rights of our LGBTIQ+ community, and consider any form of discrimination to be unacceptable.
I crossed the floor of Parliament to ensure that the rights of gay and trans children and teachers are protected in religious schools. No teacher should be sacked and no student should be expelled on account of their sexual orientation or gender identity. I have made clear that this will remain my position in the next Parliament too.
I march each year in the Mardi Gras parade to show support for our LGBTIQ+ community, and I helped with efforts to secure Sydney the hosting rights for World Pride 2023. I am supporting the establishment of Sydney’s first LBGTIQ+ museum, Qtopia.
I will continue to stand up for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community and against discrimination.
